Romance - Manali
The beauty of Manali is in its reclusiveness and
this is the reason why it was once called the "end of the habitable
world". This is arguably the ideal place to forget the worries
of life and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Other than a wonderful romantic
getaway, Manali also provides for winter sports and a variety of
other adventure sports. You can ski, hike or climb mountains here.
Manali is almost 2050 m above sea level and is pretty cold. Here
temperature easily drops below freezing point. This is a small picturesque
hamlet with orchards full of apples.
Manali
is famous for the shining Buddhist gomphas or monasteries. The monasteries
are maintained by the donations of the local community that comprises
of Tibetan refugees. The Museum of Traditional Himalayan Culture
near Hidimba Temple is truly worth a visit. In the museum you will
see folk arts that are made in the entire Kullu valley. About 3
km north-west of Manali you will find some orchards and old guest
houses that look extremely romantic.
There is a pair of old stone
temple almost 3 km from Manali dedicated to Saint Vashista. There
are also hot water underground sulfur springs underneath the tank.
Rohtang Pass is another extremely popular tourist adventure spot. The beauty of the mountain and the purity of the air no doubt
makes this place a fascinating tourism getaway for all those who are hopelessly
romantic.
Manali is among the most beautiful cities in the
Indian subcontinent. You will really enjoy this small Himalayan city tour. The combination
of adrenaline pumping adventure sports and view of the snow clad
mountain and serenity of the place, make it one of the few romantic
spots in this part of the world.
