Die-hard animal lovers make a beeline for this
national park which is actually the first national park of the country.
Located on the foothill of the Himalaya, Corbett National Park provides
shelter to a number of flora and fauna. This place is famous for
Tigers, Leopards and Elephants.
The place is an ideal habitat for
both the prey and the predator. Stretching over an area of over
201 sq miles, the park has been christened in the fond memory of
legendary British hunter and naturalist, Jim Corbett.
The
region is hilly and is cut by ravines. There is also temporary marshy
depressions. The lower area of the park is full of Sal trees. The
bio-diversity of the area is extremely rich and varied. There are
110 species of trees and over 50 species of mammals. The park is
home to 25 species of reptiles and 580 species of birds. The place
is famous not only because of the tiger population but also
famous of four kinds of deer. People also come here to see
elephants and crocodiles.
The hotel is well equipped to provide lodging facilities
to all the tourists. The lodges are in the midst of thick jungle
and you will definitely feel the rush of adrenalin when you see
deer straying in the compound and the roar of the predators in the
vicinity. Corbett National Park is closed between 15th June to 15th
November.
Winter is the best time to visit the area. The Corbett
National Park is 145 km from Lucknow. From Ramnagar, it is only
at a distance of 51 km. Easily accessibility of the place has enabled
it to attract a lot of tourist.
