Beaches of Orissa
At the eastern part of India, in the state of Orissa,
there are quite a few fascinating beaches where the waves from Bay
of Bengal crash against a jagged shoreline. The shoreline has some of the
most popular beaches in the whole world. While some have religious
associations, others are out and out famous for tourism.
Puri Beach
Puri
beach is arguably the most popular tourist destination in India.
The beach is very beautiful. Big waves crash on the sandy shore
and people enjoy a nice bath in the sea. The place also has a very
important association with religion. The temple of Lord Jaggannath
is one of the most visited temples in India. The beach is wonderful
and it is perhaps the best place to ride huge waves. There are also
life guards on the beach wearing yellow caps. You can always take
their help when you are all at sea.
Gopalpur - on - Sea
Among
the few places still undisturbed by people, Gopalpur is
one of them. It is 170 km from Bhubaneshwar and about 15 km from
Berhampur. Small population and lot of space make this place an
ideal getaway for all those who prefer to cool their heels
in soothing beaches. This is a wonderful place to enjoy surfing
and sailing. The moment you step on the beach, you will feel as if
there is no worry in the world.
Chandipur
This
is one fascinating seaside town where people can plan to stay. It
is only 16 km from Balasore. This beautiful beach has everything
in it to make your holiday romantic and memorable. The unique thing
about this beach is that the sea water recedes to about 5 km during
the low tide and comes back everyday during high tide. This is an
extremely impressive thing and you will no doubt love to move in
deep inside the high-water mark in the time of low tide.
